A 20-year public-private partnership with Trident Digital Tech (Singapore) was sealed 25 June 2025 for a national e-KYC system linked to national ID cards. Planned uses are SIM registration, a one-stop government portal, digital payment permits and a digital citizen identifier. An official launch by the president was reported for 13 June 2026. The sources do not say whether it is mandatory.
