Finland's strong online ID is mostly bank-based. The wallet law took effect on 1 October 2026, and sources now point to the state wallet reaching citizens in 2027. Finland is in the euro area, so the digital euro project covers it.

A DVV release in October 2025 said the app would come at the end of 2026, while an October 2026 report says citizens are expected to use it in 2027.
