Mobile ID World reports the programme is in its final stage with first issuance targeted for Q3-Q4 2026. Petitioners said Cabinet decisions of 27 January and 2 June 2025 changed the 2022 India MoU without telling Parliament. The Supreme Court dismissed two petitions on 17 October 2025 after accepting preliminary objections from the Attorney General.
